Bandstål was started up in 1983 by Bertil Nilsson, and is now run by the second generation ? his son Torbjörn Nilsson.
In Bångbro ? right in the heart of Bergslagen ? there is a long tradition of steel processing going back as far as the 1870s.
The locality's cold rolling mill ? owned as from 1958 by SKF and later the Uddeholm group ? was long the industry that carried the steel traditions forward. But since the closure of the rolling mill 1987 it has been Bandstål that has ensured that the expertise and industrial history are carried on ? in a refined state.
